One gift to global culture for which Americans owe the world a big apology is that bastard spawn of the bumper sticker: the clever T-shirt. For years, the French had the good taste not to wear those things. Nowhere in Paris would you ever see anything like: "J'accompagne l'idiot" across someone's chest with a cartoon hand pointing to their companion. Sadly, this is no longer true.
